They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. One of the best examples of community in the Bible is seen in the early church in the book of Acts. God never intended for us to go at life alone but to break bread with and share our burdens with one another.īiblical community – a community of other Christ-followers – is even more important because it helps us stay focused on God.
